On Living Creatively...

Quotes

‘Be brave enough to live life creatively. The creative is the place where no one else has ever been. You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. You can’t get there by bus, only by hard work and risk and by not quite knowing what you are doing. What you’ll discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover will be yourself.’

Alan Alda

‘The art of living lies not in eliminating but in growing with troubles.’

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

‘You must not for one instant give up the effort to build new lives for yourselves. Creativity means to push open the heavy, groaning doorway to life. This is not an easy struggle. Indeed, it may be the most difficult task in the world, for opening the door to your own life is, in the end, more difficult than opening the doors to the mysteries of the universe.’

Daisaku Ikeda

‘If sex and creativity are often seen by dictators as subversive activities it’s because they lead to the knowledge that you own your own body (and with it your own voice), and that’s the most revolutionary insight of all.’
